Really have enjoyed my Bilsteins but I want to get some more of the floaty feeling out of my truck. Do not need more clearence so a no lift spring upgrade sounds like the way to go. Seems like OME is the only option. Any drawbacks to using this setup?
I don't climb rocks much but do like trail riding.
Will the ride be to stiff?

I have searched but there are not many posts with the above combination of Billy's and no lift OME.

Thanks All:cheers:

Haven't tried this combo personally, but I think it'll yield a great (if not best, based on my experience with Bilstein on other vehicles) ride possible - much better than stock setup, IMHO.

I am and am did it in the same order as you are, first the Bilsteins, then the 861/862. The springs represented a substantial reduction in the floaty feeling, especially in the back, with no increase in harshness and only a minor increase in the firmness feeling (Likely because most of the rate increase in the rear springs). Body roll is also decreased. I would highly recommend the combo.

Thanks Cary,
Looks like another order from Slee on the way.
Any tips on shock removal? Do I need to take them out or can I just diconnect them from one end?

Made the call! Yes I am now on a first name basis with the fine folks at Slee's!

At this point whats another $300 and 4 hour under the truck.

I could be in front of the TV getting fat! At least this is how I justify my garage time to my wife:whoops:

I can't help you there, as I snuck them in. My installation was dropping the 80 off at my mechanics, taking his car, and picking it up 8 hours later in exchange for writing a check for $150.

Not sure what you mean by disconnecting from just one end as they have nuts on each end, however, it's very easy ...... except the top front drivers side nut, but you can use a flexi-socket and an impact wrench or one of those cool closed end wrenchs that ratchet.

Just did the shocks last month. Talked to the Slee folks and they said to just take off the lower bolts of front and rear shocks. There is no need to remove the shock to do the springs if you are not replacing them. Hope this is true as it will save me some time.:bounce:

Ahhhhh, I see, replacing the springs, not the shocks, got it! Yeah, one side would work for that.
