White Sands

Met a couple in a cool imported 70 on a Pan-American tour at White Sands yesterday. They said they started in Canada and were on their way down to Mexico.

I like that bumper. Pretty cool ride, they had changed everything to run 12V instead of 24. Looks like it's on a bit of a lift and some 32s I think.

Although, they are done now… completed their adventure!

We were camping on PINS (North Padre Island) for a week with the family durning Christmas in 2021 in our 100 series, we were 33miles down the coast and all we saw were
jeeps and trucks and jeeps and trucks… Gabe yells to the universe, ‘Just give me a Land Cruiser!!!’ And seriously, with in 20mins we hear the rumble of something way different and it was the HZJ 78 cruising by!!
That day was my birthday and we had planed to drive all the way down the coast, another 27miles, for a day adventure. When we get close to the end we see The Land Cruiser, they ended up parking next to my 100 and we made instant friends. We invited them back to our camp where my son cooked us a shrimp alfredo birthday dinner. We had a great evening of story sharing and it was so fun to hear their adventures and what was to come.

A few years before that we had an adventure 70 in our little town of Madrid…

So fun to met these adventurers and their rigs!!

Here’s the one that visited Madrid in 2019, I did not met them…

They are on Instagram, but I had forgotten to ask what their handle was. I was too excited about the truck and talking about their plans to remember to ask. All I know is that they're from the Netherlands and are on the Pan American highway... I did tell them to join mud, so maybe they'll see this thread and say hello!
