As the title suggests, anyone know te easy way to remove the side window goo? Currently getting the bulk with a flat screwdriver, but for removing it completely without the paint, I'll need to use a solvent or something. Interesting stuff, I'd left it on and reused it the last time I modded my windows, but for the gullwings I want to make a fresh start (and paint).

When I took mine out I scraped back as much as I could with a flat paint scraper then used petrol and a rag to clean the rest. Not sure if it's the best way but it seemed to work for me. Unsure if it would work very well with a lot of goo still on the sill though.

Don't have petrol on me, just diesel, turps, metho, thinner and benzene... the latter maybe? Not afraid of trial and error if it comes to it, but it would be nice to hit the nail on the head the first time and avoid a mess if possible!

Try and get most off with a razor scraper. A hair dryer or heat gun also helps soften it up so it scrapes off easier. Then try the turps if that's not strong enough I would go the thinners. BUT in a non seen area first. Sometimes 2 rags is better. One drenched in the turps to soften the glue and a dry rag will pick up the gooey stuff.

The turps actually dissolves it completely and instantly, I have three Windows to go and might try just a plastic blade (to not damage the paint at all) and just use turps. Here I was thinking it was going to be some messy time consuming thinner experiment.
