The crew on this board will need a lot more info to offer any help. Run some searches for all the recent buying threads and then see if you have specific questions. And read the newbie guide in the forum FAQs for year by year info.
If you are wondering if the 2000 can be worth $15K and the 2004 can be worth $18K,
from my searching over the past year for an LX I would say yes. I recall a nice
2001 LX with 130K sold right out from under me for $12.5K, a 2004 LX with 115K miles
the dealer would not take my $16.5K offer, an OK but not that nice 2006 LX with 95K miles
for $21K but I turned my nose up to and said no thanks,
a not so nice 2000 LX with 150K for $13K, and a 2006 with 110K miles I offered $18.5K but
dealer firm at $19.9K (great service but CarFax showed accident with Air Bag deployed).
Most of the ones I looked at sold really fast. If you find one you like you'll know
it and you need to pull the trigger pretty fast.
Give this a read, you can quickly see the difference in features between the 2000 and 2004. I'd go for the 2004 if the service history checked out, 5 speed transmission and a slew of other updates.
Oh one more thing, pricing guides like KBB and NADA I found are way too low.
There are a lot of folks looking for really nice LC's and LX's driving the price up.
Most dealers know this. Those that don't seem to be selling these 100's is just a few days.
These are my observations from of the LX and LC market.
The 04 should have the TB service already but double check- might be a sticker near the air box if it was dealer serviced- if it hasn't been done- budget $1200 maybe a little more to get it done. Factor that into your negotiations. The 00 age wise would be due as well if it's not been done.
00 does it have nav controlled AC?
04 5spd is a nice upgrade
