Which non-wheeling tires for my '06 TLC?

I got 47K miles on the original Bridgestones and it is time to change before winter.

I don't wheel in it at all, mostly highway/urban/city miles and the occasional dirt road and hills.

Of course I wouldn't mind a 'meaner' look but for best comfort/mileage which tires would you recommend and what size?

I say you get 285/75/16s in your AT tread pattern of choice. Thats right, 16s...gimmi your 18s

The Michelin LTX M&S is a great road tire. I got 74,000 miles out of the first set and it looks like I'll get about that out of the second (I have a little more than 50,000 on them now and they look like they'll go another year). On the LX, they also do fine for snow and light off-roading. They are expensive, but you come out way ahead in the end. They also ride great and are quite.

You might also want to check out the Pirelli ATR in stock size. Having had both the ATR and the Michelin LTX, I'd rate the ATR better in every way except perhaps on ice.

Tires are cheaper in 16", plus curbs dont get in your way as much

Michelin LTX M/S is a good tire, but the Michelin Cross Terrain SUV is even better in my opinion.

I got 70k miles out of the last set I had. Very quite tire, wears great, and they are really good for wet weather.

It seems like the only Michelins available from Costco that meets the requirements are the Latitude Tour HP > $253 +$14 installation each. They come in 3rd in the tests for highway all year around Consumer Survey Results By Category

#1 in that test are the General Grabber HTS at $143/each + installation.

I'm obviously inexperience in bying new tires for a LC so please help my understand one thing. OEM size for my rig is 275/60R/18. When I go to check ou the on/off terrain group at
Consumer Survey Results By Category none of them are available in 275/60R/18. Do I have to buy that exact spec? My neighberhood Tire place said they would only install tires that meets that very spec.

The M/S was improved according to Michelin, but the A/T still ranks the highest. I would have to agree with the best seller M/S for on-road only, unless you have no weather at all to deal with. Discount Tire has always beat any price - anywhere for me, even if they had to order (2 Days)

I hate the Michelin LTXs. I have them on my truck. Great tire, but lasts too long because I want to buy some offroading tires, that actually have decent tread on them.

(Loud- didn't buy the 18s because the guy tried to rip me off and tell me that it was 125 a wheel... which then he tried to give them to me for 300 a set, but I was too pissed to buy them at that point)

so please help me understand the last part about 16" vs 18". If I get 16" tires, don't I need to buy new wheels to isstall them on? Also, if I put 16"s on, doesn't that change the way the vehicle rides, make it a bit lower, throw off speedometer etc?

if your stock tire size (which for an 18" im not sure) is a 30" tire (275/70/16), and you go to a 33", 31.5" 90" or whatever tire besides what your speedometer is set to. It WILL be off a little.



I have 33.4" (295/75) BFG A/T's on 16's and my speedo reads 72... no... im going 80. i could be wrong, but i think im right about my logic and tire size/speedometer reading
