Hi There

Looking at buying a 2008-2010 model...
I heard that these years had radiators design flaws that were eventually replaced by better designs.

Any other issues to be aware of ?

The V8 2008-2010 in the GCC came with the 4.7 Liter engine which requires timing belt service.....

Any other issue to be aware of ?

Jay

They ALL have the radiator weak point...which is the indentation for the label. Dumb dumb dumb...but even after years of that weak point dating back to the 100 series, it’s still there.

2008-2010 are essentially identical. 2013 and 2016 are when significant updates occurred.

Nothing really changed until the 2013 version, then again in 2016.

Any reliability issues withe the 2008-2009 ?

I’m in a 3008 and it’s been amazing, despite being a super heavy rig on 35’s.

Find one with good servicing records and as low miles as you can afford and go for it.

If over 100k miles, look for previously replaced radiator, water pump, starter and alternator. Those are common replacements around 100k orafter 8 years or do. Other than those, look for oil changes, periodic servicing etc and grab a good one...preferably from a low-rust area.

Toyota and their damn 1000-year model cycles for the LC.

Where on Gods green earth did you score a 3008 cruiser? Does it have wheels? Whats the new flux compositor look like? Who wins the world series in 3007?

Ya...

Right after I visited So-Crates, Frood, Abe and Jingus Kan (Party on dudes!) George Carlin & I skipped on over to 3007 (when they started selling the 3008’s) and sure enough...991 years from now turns out Toyota decided to keep the bad radiator so as not to break with LC heritage...even though they stopped using gas engines back in 2034. So ya. The 3008? Same stupid radiator indent.

Go figure... ;)

Hehe... If none of that made sense to you...go watch Bill & Ted’s Eccellent Adventure. :grinpimp::hillbilly:

Be excellent to each other.
Markuson's list hits the high points of things that wear out / go bad and can be expensive to fix. But I think that those items (water pump, alternator, starter, radiator) are the same across years. I didn't look at the 2013+, but I think that's when they got the upgraded crawl control and multi-terrain select and mild styling refresh. 2016 style refresh was a bit more pronounced, incl interior.

Thank you.

These LC 200 are imported from Dubai.
No carfax there to track mileage.

I will need to go by service history and a deep inspection.

I am always afraid with today s texhnololgy one can roll back mileage.....

Do the 3008's require premium gas?

According to George Carlin...they run on doo-doo. So...if you live in San Fran where sidewalk doo-doo-piling is legal...your fuel is literally everywhere...and FREE.

Can’t wait for 3008...

Before you buy a used LC from Dubai...you might want to review how they are “used” over there...
