I know that I can warm the truck up to determine this. But can anyone tell me which heater hose is the outlet on my 1987 Toyota 4x4 with a 22R engine. I want to backflush the heater core.
Thanks in advance!

I have a 1983 22R and my outlet (disharge from water pump-fitting near timing chain cover) hose is on the passenger's side of the engine and my inlet (return from heater-suction side of weater pump) hose is on the driver's side of the motor.

Take a look at the heater hoses near where they penetrate the firewall - one of them will be attached to the valve which is connected to the heater control in the cab. Typically, this valve is in the line returning to the engine compartment from the heater core.

Good luck.
