Where to mount 2 new tires

Would be nice to see a braking test on both wet and dry surface with the tires mounted in both positions.

for years the common procedure was new tire up front, then someone locked up and got loose; crashed.

The lawyers sued to such a degree that now the procedure backed by the rubber manufacturers association says new must be in the rear. The next major lawsuit will probably go back to the front.

I 'member something about new tires on the front for a rear wheel drive & new tires on the rear for a front wheel drive.

Of course I used to buy $10 used tires for my Toyota pickup truck and the newest used tire went on the wheel that had the last blowout! Never had one new tire never mind two new tires at a time . . .
