Cannot seem to find anything that does not cost a hundred bucks. The grinders we have now is Stony creek. 3/4 horsepower runs at 3400 hundred rpm.

If you are talking about the clear plastic guards, the trash can at most shops is a good place to start. They are about worthless and get in the way more than they help.

Or did you mean the steel sideplates that surround 3/4 of the grinding wheel?

well OSHA showed up and said get(those plastic guards on) a set on each grinder:rolleyes: . So they industrail section left it up to me to find them. No the 3/4 was the horse power of the grinders.

Yes I agree with the being worthless. I am starting to think new grinders might come into play.

That's exactly what happened at one of my prior jobs. We ended up replacing a perfectly good grinder because it was missing those worthless plastic guards. Luckily for me I was the one tasked with swapping them out, so I ended up with a slightly used 3/4hp Jet pedestal grinder that was otherwise destined for the trash.

check mcmaster.com

They have a couple of options that seem to be reasonable.

Ahh they said today just replace the grinders i can have the old ones:D. Did i argue ?Nooooooooooooooooooooooo

good score

Good deal on your new grinders.

For future reference. OSHA refers to these stupid guards as "Point of Operation Guards".

We even have them on our band saws at work. It will not keep you from sticking your hand into the blade, but it might keep a wood chip out of your eye.

I think they are the dumbest thing we have ever had to buy at work.
