Just wanted to drop a note and check in with you all on where Yankee Toys stands in the new year.

I feel that all and all last year was pretty successful.

We expanded the schedule for those of our members looking for more meets.

We did some different things such as OEX and Gretchen's in the summer.

Expanded our reach through social networking via facebook and twitter and found great support from not only our members but from our sponsors. More importantly we made it easier for potential new members to find us and see what we are doing.

We revamped our membership application form to learn more about our members and will continue to streamline the process to make it easier for new members to join.

Yankee Toys found itself incorporated last year, which I felt was a huge step in the correct direction for the club. We have our own bank account now and Paypal account that makes all things money much easier to deal with.

Together we threw together a great Fall Gathering that saw good numbers,
despite a forecast of nothing but rain....per usual :bang:.

We are far ahead of the learning curve now and will continue to move the club forward and grow.

BUT........

There has been some changes within our BOD.

Sheri has decided to step down as both our Secretary and event coordinator due to some scheduling conflicts in the upcoming year.
We are sad to see her go but we owe her a great thanks for staying with our new group of BOD members and helping us move in the right direction.

We thank both Larry and John for their service to YT as NEA reps.
However due to their personal schedules they also will be leaving their positions.

We are more than happy to announce that Jon D. (remy1974) will be filling our much needed Trail Leader position.

A big thanks to Eric (Vfrer) for filling one of our delegates positions and to Rick (Highcountrycruiser) for filling both the NEA delegate position and the TLCA position.

So our vacant positions are as follows-

*Secretary -Voting Position- Helps manage the MUD forum, keeps notes from meetings and assists the BOD in executing votes and other BOD business

*Events Coordinator -Voting Position- Spearheads event planning, generally the Event Chair for Fall Gathering.

I would also like to add two non voting positions this year as well and we can vote as a club on that at the spring meeting.

*Sponsor Relations Rep. - Non Voting Position - Involved in strengthening the relationship with our sponsors, updates our sponsors with club news through social networking. Sends out donation requests for Fall Gathering and works with event coordinator on the raffle.

*TLCA Rep. - Non Voting Position - Involved in keeping Yankee Toys updated of matters within the TLCA, works to keep the TLCA involved with our club by sending out notifications of club news.

We can only do so much as a BOD in our current situation.
The bottom line is we need people to step up.
If you have any time to give to this club please contact me.
If you have an interest and just want to chat with me about the position you may be interested in please drop me a line.

I'm just putting the finishing touches on our 2012 Wheeling Schedule and look forward to making some cool new announcements in the next few weeks.

Thanks for your time,
Bob

It's important to note that for those of you who don't want to deal with club politics, having a voting position or attending club meetings....
The TLCA position is not a time consuming position at all.
The NEA Delegates position needs to attend 5 meetings this year since I have already sat in on one.
Johnny and I are planning on attending the March meeting which leaves 4 meetings.
If 2 NEA delegates split the meetings that's only 2 meetings for the year. That's not much time and it's a very important position.

As far as the other positions they also do not require much time. We try to have 3-4 club meetings per year. The positions do pick up approaching the Fall Gathering. We start bouncing ideas around in June and have a meeting in July and from there it's mostly emails.

I'm away from my computer at the moment but would be happy to post up the NEA meeting schedule with addresses when I get home.

NEA Meeting Schedule 2012-

January 7 – Worcester MA Library hosted by Mass Crawlers - I attended

March 3 – Gloucester, MA hosted by Mass Mudders - Johnny, Rick and I are planning on attending.

May 5 – Rhode Island hosted by Summit Crawlers - Eric

June 30 – Buzzards Bay, MA hosted by Cape Cod Jeep Club - Eric

August 25 – Gretchen’s hosted by NEWJO - Rick

November 3 – Upstate NY hosted by NEXterra - Bob

They usually run from 10am-3pm with an hour break in between.
All meetings have a lunch provided for you by an NEA club, sometimes you get breakfast and coffee too!
Some meetings the club also puts together a trail ride after as well.

I think I could cover a couple if you'd like...

May 5 – Rhode Island hosted by Summit Crawlers
June 30 – Buzzards Bay, MA hosted by Cape Cod Jeep Club

These are pretty local to me too. I haven't been to any of these meetings before though so would need some info on what is expected and all that if you want me to go.

Thanks,
Eric

That would be great Eric if you were willing to take that role.
I will PM you about info in regards to the position.

Thanks!

Secretary
Sponsor relations rep
and Event Coordinator positions still open.

Hey Bob when u gonna post up the new schedule for this year?

Waiting to hear back from a landowner and waiting on an answer from another club.
I'm hoping to have answers by next week.
If I don't I'll just release the schedule with a few "to be announced".

Been working behind the scenes to clean that wording up and get better TLCA exposure.

I wanted to submit a chapter update to TLCA but we are not a club in "Good Standing" meaning we can't do that.

We have had no one on a conference call with the TLCA for a number of years and am trying to do what I can to rectify that thus adding a TLCA Delegate (which we need no vote on because our bylaws state that we are already supposed to have one!).

Been in touch with Justin (TLCA prez) and have received the paperwork to bring the club back to TLCA good standing.

Even though "Non Sanctioned" seems kind of crumby it's important to note that the TLCA doesn't need to advertise the Fall Gathering at all.

Thanks to Eric for stepping up to the other NEA Delegate position.
