Where do I find replacement hose clamps?

They appear to be zinc plated. Not a bad looking repro item huh?

I do not know what band clamps you have experience with that have "come loose" but I've been using the Type 316 SS band clamps for over 30 years on a variety of automobiles and have never had one “come loose”. I find that when the clamp needs to be re-tightened it is the result of the hose material yielding to temperature and/or the pressure of the clamp. The cheaper the hose material and construction the more the hose will yield under temperature and the pressure of the clamp requiring a re-tightening of the clamp. This will happen with all clamp styles from wire to band that do not have a constant tension spring (Belleville or T-bolt coil) to compensate for changes in clamping diameter due to temperature and/or pressure.

Yes I agree they do need to be retorqued from time to time, hence the reason I prefer a spring type clamp if available. somethimes these things can be a bear to get to.

you could get these... i bought a bunch and they are pretty cheap and pretty good quality... the ones i could salvage from my truck i got cleaned and re-plated...

Amazon.com: JET wire hose clamps
Yes, Wire Hose Clamps is the correct term for them.

It takes a bit of searching for them, China still produces them which I think is where most retailers are getting them from these days - MOQ 1000-2000.

I ordered a set of 3" Wire Clamps from http://www.japanwoodworker.com the other day for my BJ40.

We ended up getting the clamps from Toyota. Not sure about the comments regarding whether they loosen up or not, but my interest was in keeping it as stock as possible. Thanks for all the input. JMP

I should have read this thread earlier. You could bring ALL of your stuff if you are doing a resto here

Commercial and Industrial metal finishing by Wisconsin Plating Works Racine, Wisconsin

One pic of some of the stuff I had done. I also had all of my oem fuel line clamps done, nuts, bolts, air intake clamp, gas pedal, headlight buckets, etc.
Very cost effective, and if you need more info pm me.

Or you could go this way

Copy CADMIUM and Bright Zinc

I'll be doing it that way as otherwise I'll have to many parts in pieces, doing it yourself you can do the bits as you get to them.
There's other products on the homepage and they offer solutions for every type of DIY plating.

Nice webelk6. IMO if you're doing a full resto and you leave out the zinc plating it still looks like and old car, do the plating and the whole rig looks brand new.
