Where can I run a wire through to power a ham radio?

I'm looking in the engine compartment of my '99 LC. I need to run a power cable from the battery to under one of the front seats to mount a FT-8800R radio.

I don't see anything that sticks out as a whole in the firewall where a cable can go through.

There are two large rubber grommets type things on each side of the firewall where the factory wiring enters the cabin. You can poke a small hole in the flat part and feed the power lead through, add a dab of silicon caulk to seal the wire to the grommet. There is a wide channel running along the outside of the floor on each side of the truck, this is where most of the chassis wiring runs but there is plenty of room for a few more wires.

I mounted my FT8900 in the rear PS storage compartment, the power lead is routed inside the frame and enters the body through a rubber plug located directly under the pocket. You can see it when you remove the inside panel. I poked a hole then sealed it with caulk.

Is this what you are referring to?

Also, do you have a picture of your 8800 mounted in the rear pocket?

Those are the ones, the driver side is pretty easy to get to the passenger side not so much.

Sorry no pictures and the truck is loaded up right now. It's pretty straight forward to figure out once you have the inside panel out.

Hmm, that's actually a picture from the passenger. It's pretty easy to reach.

I can't even locate the one on the driver side.

......

Wait until you try to access it from inside.;)

It's there, and a lot easier to get at from inside. I ran my locker switch wire through it.
