The hints are : the vehicle (surprisingly enough) and some specific items of the landscape (although admittedly not fully seen).

hint: the "mountains" are much bigger and steeper than seen here and together with the "water" are a notable feature.

surprisingly, the place was full of Defenders with a few Toy 70s thrown in for good measure

That is Cook's Bay on Moorea (that some believe to be the most beautiful island on Earth, at least when approaching by boat. On land, I could go with Bora Bora instead...)!
