When do you use CDL and RR DL?

Curious about diff lock use for various terrains and when you use them (100 tech b/c I figure I'd get more responses and same configuration/options).

So I usually end up locking the center when offroad (mainly b/c it sometimes takes a few rolls before it actually locks. Other times, it locks right away.) but how do most of you do it?

I guess in snow, it would perform better open (cdl off) especially when turning.

But there are alot of configurations to consider and need some advice:
1. CDL/RR diff unlocked (open 4wd, trac)
2. CDL locked/ RR unlocked
3. CDL unlocked/RR locked
4. CDL/RR both locked

So help put me in the right mindset on how best to apply these options, thanks!!

***In tough off-road situations (especially when flexed out) DO NOT run CDL OPEN. If TRAC kicks in and you lose traction on a hill climb then hit the brakes the brakes may not hold as the TRAC can still operate and you could roll backwards, therefore possibly losing control. This CANNOT happen with the CDL locked.

***In ice and light snow, yes...however with the aid of TRAC a locked CDL and TRAC make for an amazingly safe ride.

But there are alot of configurations to consider and need some advice:
1. CDL/RR diff unlocked (open 4wd, trac)
Pavement and forest roads, and in a super tight spot off-road where you need better turning. (cause the CDL fights turning)
2. CDL locked/ RR unlocked
Four wheeling
3. CDL unlocked/RR locked
See the 2nd part of #2.
4. CDL/RR both locked
Best combo in tough off-road situations. Locked rear and TRAC controlled front. Good turning capability and 3-wheel drive.

So help put me in the right mindset on how best to apply these options, thanks!!
