Yep, snagged one of the new Tamiya FJ40s and took it out today for a shakedown.:D

Pretty fun! Does very well on off cambers, good power (if it gets stuck on a sandy hill just back out and gun it), and the suspension is decent for flex! Pics:

Looks pretty dang good!

Thanks Mot! I've been into R/C since 8th grade when I won a plane in a contest, decided a rudder wasn't enough, and built ailerons myself into the wing. Been doing it on and off ever since!

damn thats cool! These things have such incredible detail.

I was just tellin the neighbor kid about these specific R/C's.
He has been watchin me and I have been teachin him about the work I was doin on my truck!

Can anyone with a modern Tamiya report on how waterproof the electronics are? Want to splash it through a puddle for photos but don't want to fry it prematurely.

I just ordered one of these, but i have no experience in RC stuff what so ever.
Dave, what controls and ESC did you use and what do you feel needs to be upgraded.

It's more or less an impulse purchase, but i do want to have fun with it. So if anyone could give me some advice, that would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,

Mark
