Since I'm not from CO, I'm curious of the feasibility of wheeling the San Juans over Thanksgiving. I'm not looking for anything crazy Alpine Loop or over Ophir Pass to Telluride. Are the passes still open and safe that late in November? I do know if we go we'll be stopping at the hot spring in Ouray. If that's not possible how's Moab that time of year? At any rate I'm just looking for some input from those that are local to the area.

Chances are you will be wheeling in Moab. Keep in mind it can even snow in Moab that late in November so pack accordingly.

Thanks. I sort of figured that the passes would be closed. One of the guys from Rising Sun posted a link for a good site from the Ouray Chamber that lists the trails and if they are open, no go for Thanksgiving.

The wife has given a soft go-ahead on Moab pending there will be no serious wheeling just easy trail rides and checking out Arches NP. Need to do some more research.
