For those that have a lifted 200 with the KDSS system what wheels are you guys using to avoid tire rub with the 305/65/18 tires. We have found even with the ICON front coilovers the front tires rub just a little bit at full turn.

I can only think that less off-set will actually correct this.

but having a hard time finding the correct wheel for a customer of ours that is interested in doing a build up of his LC.

Post away boys and girls.

Let me see what you have.

Since I've been extensively down this road, I do have $.02 to throw in...

I've got the following:
285/70/17 on TRD 17" x 8" 60mm offset (stock measurements). The OD on the tire should be 32.8". No rub what-so-ever, and this is why I decided to stay with the stock configureation.

You can fit a 33" on here with all the available rims, but any bigger and you either get rub on the KDSS cylinder or inside mud flap in the front...both happening on full turn.

Some of the rims out there that will allow for a margin of offset that may or may not solve the problem (it comes down to tire sizes though). Procomp Alloys have a couple of styles that measure 18" x 8.5" with 19mm offset or 20" x 9" 26mm offset.
American Racing ATX have a couple of styles that measure 18" x 8.5" and 20" x 8.5" with 30mm offset, and one ATX model that has 12mm offset (a guy on here has those, and said there was still some rub...not sure where the rub was).
I know there are some other manufacturers out there that do produce similar size variations.

Good luck...my suggestion would be to wait a couple of years, or find what you like and hound the people that make it. There is very little 5 x 150 spaced wheel options out there?

From what I have gathered, 33's are about it without modifying the fenders like Artic Trucks have done to fit 35's. The 305's would be about 34" which will rub.

I am interested in knowing what you find and what you do to the truck. Can you please keep us posted?

Also, how are you liking the ICON setup? Did you get a full 2.5" out of it? What other mods did you do (Total Chaos upper control arms, ICON lower arms in the rear, etc)?

We are an ICON dealer and there stuff is top notch. We actually got 3.5" out of the front coilovers and had to back them off for the CV's to work well.

We do use the TC upper control arms with this set up for better adjustability of the camber correction and the room you gain with those arms.

We have not fitted the rear billet arms yet but I believe we will be doing them on the next build we are scheduling.

I will also keep you guys informed on what we do and what we find out as far as wheels go.

I am in search of a good wheel with only 4-4.5 inches of backspacing to help clear the 34" tires.

I spent an hour looking around last night, and am more frustrated about this lack of wheel options for the 200. 5 x 150 bolt spacing isn't to common. You may want to also surf through tundrasolutions.com , and see what wheels people use on '07 / '08 Tundras.

It sounds like the only current option is American Racing's ATX Thug. It has the least offset at 12mm, and appears to be one of the widest options.

Do you already have the wheels? What type are they, if you do? I think you can help the rubbing by going with a 33" x 12.5" tire. You can get some sweet aggresive mudders, and it would look just as big without being to big. I'm just trying to imagine the squared edge of a 305/65/18 BFG AT...there is a bunch of corner rubber on that tire perfect for digging in to important and expensive options.

Dont have wheels yet, but our customer would like the best option for his truck.

I might look into the 17" rim with the 33x12.50 tire.

smytyblt.....love the ICON wheels and know this is an old thread. I have a new LC200 and want to remain stock sizing with existing suspension, but would like some non stock wheels. What ICON wheel can fulfill the 18X8.5 (possibly 9) and stick with my 285/60/R18 Michelins. Can the Rebound (or others) serve to provide a stock config with no rubbing?

Those are roughly 33.6" tires.

You can run 34"'s BUT you need to (a) run a 3/4" spacer or mover the wheel outbound 3/4" with OEM wheels to clear the KDSS front driver side tire. and (b) heat up and mold the front mud flaps to clear the tire. For this I heated them up with a heat gun till soft with the tire on, then used the tire and a chunck of split firewood to press the mud flap back against the wheel well then let it cool down.

Mine are 33.98"

there is some thread on 34 vs 35 tires that has pictures..

Holy thread resurrection. Icons in5x150 are 17” and 25mm offset. They will run 33 and 34” fine. Trimming likely. Spacer probably not unless you really want poke. There are many trucks on here with rebounds and lately vectors search around

The OP said ICON coil over shocks..not wheels.

but like grinchy he said the icon wheel has a 25mm offset and doesn't need a spacer, the spacer is only for OEM wheels.

Would the 18" Rebound with 285/60/R18 Michelins create any rub....is that why you are suggesting the 17"?

He was pointing out the 22mm offset will correct the rub. The 17" or 18" doesn't matter for rub, it is just extra information. 17" are better offroad than 18" as they allow more cushion.

so you can either get new wheels with an offset of 22mm or push the OEM wheels outbound with bora 3/4" spacers. This is for over 33" tires. Up to approx 34". Then after that 35" is more involved.

Corrected/removed comment on OEM offset as pointed out on following post
