If its one wheel, swap it with the spare under the trunk. My 07 spare is in minty fresh condition... Never installed on the truck. The factory spare rubber was brand new, but dry rotted to hell.

Alloy wheels can get stained over time. Etching can happen esp. if you're not treating your wheels via sealants & cleaning.

Sonax makes a killer wheel cleaning product that is very safe. I've glass coated my wheels & can still use this.

If that doesn't work you might want to take it up to a local detailer to get their POV as next steps.
