Hey, I'm installing a lift on my GX and have it tore down. gonna weld on some spindle supports.
It has 102000 miles on it.
Would you keep and run the factory wheel bearings? Or bite the bullet and install new ones. No sign of slack or growling noise. And if you did replace. what brand would ya trust.?
Thanks

I can't comment on whether you should change them now or not, but definitely go with bluepitbearings. Best customer service I have ever experienced and the packaging he ships in is incredible. It is a bolt on assembly bearing/hub so it is pricey. But very much worth every penny. Oh and it is all OEM parts.

I just ordered these on Ebay. 2005-2015 Tacoma 4x4 2 complete KOYO Front Wheel Hub bearing assembly (1 pair) | eBay
I just installed a lift and wheel spacers. I have noticed an intermittent back and forth vibration over 60 mph in the steering wheel that goes away when the left is weighted in a high speed sweeping right turn. I'm not positive its the wheel bearings but the GX has 146k on it and they have never been replaced. All my bushings and balljoints are new on the front so I'm gonna go ahead and do the wheel bearings. I took things back apart to reboot the CVs. Hoping I'm good for a while once I get it back together. The only parts not new on the front will be sway bar bushings, end links and tie rods. If the vibration isn't fixed I can do tie rods without too much disassembly.

BluePit have a great rep and I've heard you can't go wrong with theirs.

However if you're looking to save a few bucks, the current go-to guys in the Tacoma/4Runner world is Marion at Bumper2Bumper Auto. The difference on theirs is they use Dorman hubs instead of OE Toyota. Saves about $100 each side.

That being said...I personally wouldn't be replacing mine until they're feeling funny or making noise or I had cash coming out my nose.

The only drawback here is Marion doesn't usually have them sitting on the shelf ready to ship. He seems to build and ship as ordered. I wanted mine quickly since mine is apart currently.

I bought both sides and a CV from here:
Mid States Off Road

No problems and quick service. Actually kept my originals to rebuild and use for trail spares.

Agree with others, your bearings will let you know when it's time. At 102K, you could get another 50k out of your OE. Your CVs will probably give you problems and seep before the bearings will let go.

I heard through the grapevine that @cruiseroutfit is working on a hub assembly for future release, for anyone that is not in dire need of bearings and hubs now, but might in the future.

I was literally thinking yesterday about checking with you to see how yours were looking and then having a talk with Kurt to see what he thought on doing them. He didn't have much time for them a few years back, but said he'd revisit it at some point. Cool!

Mine are fine right now. If all the work I just did to the front end didn't fix my issues, I would move them up the priority list.
