What's this FJ40 worth?

My brother was killed in a tragic accident 2 years ago. My sister-in-law got an offer for his project FJ40 and she is wondering how much she should sell it for. It was garaged for 13 years until he covered it up outside 2 years ago. It is a 77 drivetrain w/ a 75 back half of the tub welded on to get rid of rust. It has been rhino lined. It did run but needs some carb work and the new poly gas tank must be installed. It also comes with aftermarket seats. It does have some rust. I know it is only worth what someone is willing to pay, but what would be a fair price for a project like this?

Is it complete and aside from the need for the carb work and tank, would it easily be a driver? Is it all there, doors, seats, running boards, etc. I have seen running trucks in so-so shape go for $5k-$6k, most non-runners I don't generally see for more than $4k. If you have to bring a trailer and can't hear it run it will be a gamble to whomever is looking at buying it.

I know the sentimental value is probably much higher than that, but my guess is that's probably close to where it would land.

Thanks so much for the reply. It does have doors but I'm not sure what kind of shape they are in. We were guessing it was worth a lot less, I just didn't want her to get ripped off. It's gonna take a lot of work to get in good shape but I think it could be a good cruiser.

If I was closer I'd bring a trailer. I'd like to have one to just be a doors and top off sunny day took around in rig.

Start high, she can always come down. Hard to negotiate the other way.

This vehicle was sold and now resides in Charleston
