What's the skinny on a Prado KZJ78 or KZJ95?

Not an LJ78 - but is the bigger engine better? Are there troubles with a later model Prado?

Peace +Peter

A 95 is a completely different model with IFS and the designtion of 1KZ TE (to denote the engine has electronics)
They will blow a head occasionally, usually through lack of service on the radiator. The rad is plastic and aluminium and where they join begins to leak and let the coolant level drop and lose pressure, then corrosion ,then $$$$
But its not a regular headache like the older engine and probably wont happen with maintenance.

Fuel pumps can be repaired by some fuel injection shops now Ive heard, but the general practice has been to give the old one to the dealer and hand over $2500 for a factory rebuilt item.
Its not a regular problem, but it happens.
Plenty of 95 series in oz with 3-400000klms and probably the best resale value out of all the 4wds sold here.
There is a forum on MUD for them.
