I saw it first hand while we worked on mine and it looks great! Thanks for all the help on mine Ray I owe you some labor time for sure!!

Well kinda been all over the place and BeBe hasn't gotten much love. Did the passenger side of my axle (with complete rebuild with marlin seals, new rotor and lugs) and that got rid of my brake fade I had on longer descents and also my death wobble at about 50mph on the freeway. Started to do the drivers side to find one of the hub bolts was seized. Since the wife was coming back from her trip to NYC the next day I said screw it and left it there for the time being but may have to invest in an extractor to get the little bastard out. But while the drivers side knuckle is dirty it is not leaking like the passengers was.

Other than that she has not gotten driven all that much as it warm enough to ride often. Have been spending more time on my mtn bike than anything (when possible) and stuff around the house. Actually, been getting beat up this year on the hardtail on my longer rides so I am building a new full suspension mtb. Must have been meant to be because I told myself that I wouldn't start the build unless I sold my road bike, took 3 days to sell the bike on Craigslist for full asking price. Started a build thread for that in the biking forum, so looks like I will be putting off the lift this year! LOL....

got the fj60 collum in the red fj40 today, turned out real nice will post some pix when I get a chance..

I discovered the actuator for the rear axle I'm about to install was seized, so I got it apart and cleaned up. Then I built a tester to run it and make sure I have it clocked right. So far so good...

A couple of weeks ago when I was winching somebody over a snow drift, I discovered my winch would not winch out under power... when I got home I figured out that solenoid was bad. Superwinch sent me a replacement gratis. Today I finally go around to installing it.

While I had everything apart, decided to relocate the controls... :p

and use switched power since the connector is now externally accessible.

Well I had my fusible link arc a single wire week before last. It was the one line that controlled all interior lights and running lights. So I did not have any gauge lights, stereo, interior door lights, or running and brake lights. Gauges worked fine and so did the headlights and rest of the vehicle.

Well the short/arc caused the coupler/connector to melt so ended up having to replace both parts (+battery connector and fusible link) but the fusible link was the only thing still available from Mr. T. Beno was nice enough to get it to me quickly so while I was at it I replaced almost all my battery/ground cables with my Fourrunner kit (still have to do the body to frame and optional alternator direct connection).

While I was in there trying to figure out if I had a bad ground or wire disconnect from my stereo I took out all my old, disconnected stuff from the POs cruise control, well at least I thought all of it was disconnected. Now I have not battery line (hot 12v) to the stereo so this is leading to me putting in Eric's (SLCFJ62) Wired Wagon ultimate harness with the auxiliary box. However, I am a complete moron when it comes to electrical so I have yet to figure out how to hook the thing up aside from it controlling the lights. That will be on the agenda for next week along with the Driversside knuckle rebuild (and then I can get @Krusty Krab back his hub socket) and have the new lugs pressed into the new rotor as the wife will be in NYC all week.

Next on the cruiser agenda after that is finally getting around to replacing the damn quarter panels/wheel wells that @RAYJON gave me.

Nice update, better electrical is always good..Next time you are at pick and pull, find a gm pickup, they all have a block on the firewall, with 5-10 fuseable links, raid them for your tool kit, they come in handy...

Thanks for the suggestion Ray, I may have to take a run to PnP next week when I get a chance and grab a few. Any specific model/year vehicle I should look for? Might look to see if I can find a Sanden AC while I am there for my eventual OBA conversion.

any 90's gm truck, the surburbans have more, the block is kind of nice to if you have alot of electrical, another one is the cs144 alternator trucks 98 and newer have a nice buss fuse to protect the alternator mounted on the fan shroud, nice self contained buss fuse holder with cover attached, there are also some neat stuff on the firewall of the newer ford trucks, small relay packs and other items that have a clean oem look but can be adapted to anything.. good luck..

Body work... body work... body work...

Things look pretty straight... until you start blocking with guide coat:

I'm also making my own speaker panels that hopefully don't look too out of place on a 40:

Aaaaaand of course there's always the inevitable "s***, I put the clutch disc in backwards so I get to pull everything completely apart AGAIN" to brighten my day:

I am doing nothing. Well, that's today. I got married on June 8th at Zephyr Cove to Annie, my girlfriend of 2 years. My 79 FJ40 is still at Mudrak's getting all sorts of upgrades, hoping to have it back before Christmas. Honeymoon coming up near the end of July to Maui. Life is pretty good.

Congrats!

bump, bump, bump Lee's cruiser looks great together and driving..... thanks for driving it to the meeting...

motor came out of the red fj40, stripped off the old crappy motor mounts and worked on scab plates and new motor mounts, also did some more on the rear sill, going to tear out what I did before and put a piece of boxed in place of the rear mount, already made the ends.. pix to follow

The death wobble on the FJ60 is cured thanks to some stock wheels from Ray. They still took a lot of weights so I'm blaming the root cause on the POS BFG MT's. Makes me sad that what used to be such a great tire is now a POS.
