Have a 97LX450....keeping.

Looking at a 2006 LC with 160k on it. Standard model with no AHC.

All southern vehicle life so no rust on it or under it. Body in great shape. Shifts smooth, sounds good, no vibrations, (small air noise on upper right...sunroof or molding maybe?), belt done at 105,000, pulled maintenance records and had great service with regular maintenance from 30,000-115,000 miles at dealer. Not sure where the other stuff was done. All original VIN stickers on body panels, clean carfax. Everything works as it should.

Clean interior and exterior, leather good, typical interior stuff. Price is in line.

I would be 3rd owner. Current owner has had for 10,000 miles and decided to go back to a car for his 160 mile daily commute.

Who here would buy or pass? Going to be DD for wife and kids. We run about 15k to 20k a year on road.

I don't know much on 100's but did read the slee newb guide. Is there an expected large maintenance hit looming?

I'm selling a 2007 F150 crew to do this. Is wearing me out....at 70k its needed more stuff in the last 10,000 miles than the LX450 needed in 50,000 and I bought the 450 with 135 on the odo.

Based upon what you posted, the mileage, based upon the experience I've had with my '99 (bought at 69k miles and now 218k miles), wouldn't bother me if the price was right. Above and beyond all the basic things to check on the rig:

I would pay special attention to the rack & pinion...check for leaks and also check for play (push/pull tire at 3 & 9 with one tire off the ground; while there check at 6 & 12 for ball joint play)...might be a bargaining point for you. Or if its still tight you'll know one more thing about your potential rig.

Check 4-way steering wheel adjust...just be sure it works; could be another bargaining point if telescoping motor doesn't work, etc.
