I have looked at a bunch of "restorable" M416s, but I think I want to go ahead and front the cash for a decent M101 and be done with it. By the time I restore an M416 to my liking, I'll have $ 1500 in it.

What is the $$ range I can expect?

I am considering buying one here in TX on Ebizzle for about $ 800. I know that the range in the Great White North is probably closer to $ 500-700, but this one (Michele Knautz) is already here and shipped. Should I wait for a better deal? I have heard in this section about the supply getting limited. I don't need it until this winter, but I don't want to be left with my cheese in the wind (as Edward Rooney says).

I need opinions.

In Edmonton, I paid 800 canadian. For a mega clean unit. Not too many use marks and brand new tires. He had many more in clean shape.

It was west ed equipment. No affiliation. Just a wack of trailers. Do the drive, enjoy the Canadian beer and whiskey. Make a trip out of it. We would be happy to get your buckaroos to our economy :) Join up with the Rocky Mountain Cruisers for a run while there.

$800 is around $725 US right now. I exchanged some US $$ at the bank yesterday and got a rate of 1.1025.

Thanks, brownbear. I would love to make it up there; my wife-to-be and I have been discussing a Canada trip.

So $ 800 Canadian is about $ 650-700 USD? Isn't the Canadian about 1.2 USD or something?

Thanks!

our dollar is worth 89. cents usd

Nice thing about doing a trip to a place like I bought mine, is you get to go thru and pick the absolutely best one in the lot. I spent and hour looking at all of them before selecting. Very difficult as soo many were mint. They still tho are a bit different wear and tear.... some where even older. Bet they would go for cheaper.

I think some of them saw action in Croatia/Bosnia etc. We were in the early 90 there with troops. But I think some of them(trailers) never saw action at all. My unit was too fresh looking to have been hauled around the country over there .
