I'm looking at a 96 Taco, V6, AT, extended cab with 162k. The overall condition is fair to good. What do you guys think it's worth? :hhmm:

KBB says $4500 (seems low to me)
NADA says $5600 for trade, $7300 for retail (this seems more realistic)

I'm in South Carolina.

Thanks...

I'm going to look at a similar truck tomorrow morning in the Midwest. It's a 2 owner, '95 extended cab, V6, 4x4, 5 speed, 31" Goodyear A/T with about 10K, supposedly excellent, asking $5500. I'm going to offer him $5K. The prices you quote seem higher than the book values I've seen for this area. I saw a little older truck on a used dealer lot last spring for $6500. I'm an FJ40 guy but I need a pickup and I'm sold on Toyota. I'd be interested in opinions and on where you wind up vt.

Pete

I bought the '95 this morning for $5K. A good running and driving, tight, rattle free, clean truck. It has some 90-ish graphics, some goofy wind deflectors on all the windows, and factory (or dealer-installed) running boards, all of which will come off as soon as spring gets here.

The difference in book prices I referred to were because you were looking at a '96 vt and the ones I was talking about were for a '95....duh

I might have paid a little too much but used Tacomas for sale below about $10K-$15K don't seem to exist around here.

Between 4 and 5 grand would seem about right to me for a decent shape stock truck. I sold my absolutely mint 95.5 tacoma reg cab V6 with 100k on it that had a recently installed 4 inch pro comp lift, new 33's, flares, visor, tonneau cover, and a very trick custom stereo in 2001 for $7200 and it took quite a while to sell. Of course modded trucks are tougher to sell in general. My father has a 98 TRD package with 180k that he was offered 4500 trade in towards a new one last summer. I think a lot of people just drive them until there's nothing left, which is what he plans on doing. I think it's going to take a while, his still looks and drives just about as good as when it was new.

i got my 99 with a 3 inch lift, lockers front and back, arb bumper, sliders, 4 front lights and 6 rock lights.... blah blah blah for 6500 but it had some slight rock rash on it.

I'm trying to sell my 2wd Taco, has 220k miles on a 4 banger, regular cab base model, condition is fair. Anybody have an idea what I could sell it for. I need gas money for this Landcruiser i'm going to buy...

I sold my 96 taco xcab v6 5spd sr5/limited with 162k for 7k last weekend. Miss it already and buying a runner this weekend.
