my clutch plate was installed backwards? I think if I remember correctly, it looked very similar on both sides.

I'm just curious because my clutch seems to be very high before it engages.

Not entirely sure, but I believe if you search there are a few posts about it..

Something about clutch shudder, and difficulty grabbing etc.

I think the clutch won't work if its backwards - won't disengage. Maybe you just need to adjust it?

you'll blow out the dampeners and trash your flywheel

the disc should tell you what side goes which way.

Yeah, I don't think you could get the cover or TO bearig to install if the disk was backasswards.
