i seem to remember reading that ford truck wheels will fit a bj60: is that true? how about 4runner wheels? i'm not looking for an increase in size, just more choices when i come to replace my scruffy looking ones on the truck right now . . . . . .

not ford.

chevy 6 bolt kinda do, but the backspacing is wrong. so spacers are a must.

there are lots of choices. they same holds true for fj60, they are the same in that regard.

my best advice is go to 16 inch either the ones Greg_b has brought itm or can tell you how to buy them. or go to all steel toyota(new).

try a search, this has been a common subject. don't just search intl but also 60 62 forum. It true is a very talked about subject. tires are number one I think talked about. there must be thousands of tire threads.

oh ya and whats your max speed threads and my lousy fuel mileage, but thats mostly 80 series.
they can't decide if they want massive power or fuel sipping economy :flipoff2:

Chev knock offs...but they must have the right backspacing and offset to clear the calipers...

6-5.5 is the number...

Any 4* series or 7* series Canadian wheel will work too. The runner wheels have 4" BS, or maybe a tad more...

If you are staying stock, look around to any of the parts folks in the Lowermainland for some stock wheels. Blast and powdercoat, seal the seams, and you're good to go...

I do not know much about the runner wheels. I have never tried to fit them. There may well be conversation about them on this site. Try a general forum search with 4runner wheels. Any 4" BS'd 15" wheel will not work. The smaller diameter brings the lip to the TRE's. 16" expands the lip past the TRE's.

Just to clear up...
So the 16" rims clear the calipers even at 4" backspacing as the extra inch puts the wheel outside the caliper, correct?

The 16" will clear the TRE's even with 4" BS.

I thought max BS'd are 3.5"

Stock BS is 3.5". You can go deeper with 16" rims...you lose track though.

The 16x7 Uniques with custom 3.5" BS look just right on Petras HJ61 with no flares...

The caliper issue is more to do with the offset and shape of the inner. The inner needs to come off the mounting surface and head back pretty quite to clear the calipers. I believe JJ offset is the correct one.
