what type of tube for crossbars to support RTT?

I'm building a super simple crossbar system to mount a hardshell RTT (about 150lbs)

the plan is to drill and bolt the tube directly to the rain gutter mount, for a total of 3 crossbars.

is tube such as this: Everbilt 1 in. x 72 in. Square Tube 0.0625 in. Thick-801127 - The Home Depot

acceptable to use for supporting an RTT?

What about the weight of the occupants?

Since you're in Socal, see if there's a Pattons near you. Much cheaper than HD.

2 adults, less than 250 pounds (total)

I’d bump up to 1/8” wall so most bolts don’t crush it as easily.

And go find a real steal supplier, a full stick (20-24ft) will likely be as much as that 6ft length from Home Depot.

thanks for the great advice! i will look for an actual metal supplier instead and go with 1/8th wall. if i were to build a flat rack would you recommend i use this type as well?
