what to look for when buying an 80 series

I currently own the 01 lx, and the 80 series has always been my favorite.
I know it has less horsepower, but it's shape is classic and I dont see it as a shape that would look dated in the future either.
with that said, from a 100 series owner's perspective, what are the things that I need to be careful about before I buy an 80 series.
I have done the research and have found out that I should look for lockers, and if possible, service history.
I am fairly familiar with the 100 series, so any pointers for the 80 series would be appreciated.
It is by no means, a 80 versus a 100 thread.
I have just noticed, that most of the 100 owners have, at one time or the other, owned or currently own the 80 series and therefore I am asking this question here rather than in the 80 series forum.

I would say buy the lowest mile truck you can possibly find, simply for longevity reasons. I have seen guys posting finding them in the 60K range still, which is less than my 00. One question, are you planning to own both, or trade?
