I recently bought a Dissent rear bumper with a tire carrier. Now I have a bunch of room in the old spare location. I'm wondering what innovative things folks are putting there. A few things come to mind, but I would like to see what else you guys have come up with:

-Long range fuel tanks (might be tough on my AHC)
-water tanks (might be tough on my AHC)
-compressed air tank (that might be handy!)
-gear storage perhaps (although I don't think it's a good location for recovery gear, perhaps there is lesser-used gear that would fit there in a box attached to the tire winch)

I'd love to hear your thoughts, ideas, and see your modifications.

I'm a fan of extra fuel, and I'm working on putting a tank back there on my own 100. Then I'll only worry about water on the rear bumper, and no dumping/siphoning fuel cans.

To me, it would be worth swapping in heavier springs to assist your AHC in carrying the weight. (assuming you're keeping AHC...)

Since you're running AHC, adding any additional weight beyond what you've already added with the rear bumper will absolutely have to consider King springs in the rear or you're going to start having issues. You'll have to "help" the AHC because you're adding a LOT more weight if you go with either fuel or water. Fuel is going to be 6.25lbs/gallon and water 8.01lbs/gallon. That weight can add up quick and easily overdo the AHC.

I personally wouldn't store gear in that location. If you get bogged, you're going to have a hard time getting to it. That's one of the reasons I elected for a rear bumper so that I could the spare out from underneath. I feel the area where the spare was is really suited ideally to a long-range fuel tank only.

Does anyone make a donut shaped air tank that could just be winched up light the spare tire? Seems like it wouldn't even have to be 100 series specific that way keeping the costs down.
