Nothing like that feeling when someone has stolen/ gone through your stuff. Very sorry to hear it happened. Insurance company would be my first call. Years ago I had a car broken into and some work keys were taken. Insurance helped out, as one of the keys taken was a coded key for another vehicle.
My second thought would be to spend a few nights sleeping quietly in the 100. Nothing like choking the **** out of some dirtbag. YMMV
