Could any of you guys give me some advice on a good, somewhat aggressive with not being over aggressive tire for my old man's 2005 land cruiser and if possible any reccomendations on where to get them for a good price. The Grand trek's aren't cutting it in the snow up at his cabin. Thank you in advance. Steve

Michelin LTX A/T 2s

I love my Revo2s. Get them from a good shop that has a road-force balancer.

Tires are a service item that it pays to buy local because of the need to do rotations, balances and repairs. I use Discount Tire.

Ok, Thank's guys, I'll check them out and see if he likes them.

Here's another question, The stock tires are 275 60 18 . I'm not the best with these metric sizes, so what would be the next size up I could go without rubbing, he doesn't want a lift he's 76 years old. It seems like I'm really limited when I'm searching for 275 60 18 tires. Thank's

Thank you 1loud. Steve

I concur!

They're the best tires I've ever had and they wear like iron...I just wish I had gone with the 285s.

I have buddys that have the revo's and while they love them they do not get very much life out of them at all.

Nice to see in in the Hundy section, Steve :) How's the 40 coming?

I LOVED my Revos and got close to 65k miles out of them. They still had some life left when I replaced them. The treadlife comment surprises me, as I was really impressed of the tread depth of the Revos when they were new. Now my Toyo Open Country AT's are a bit softer and a different story (I still really like the Toyo's though). I have never had the Michelin's but it would be nice for someone to post up some real word experience with their performance in snow vs. a Revo or Toyo.

I got about 60k out of my first set of 285 Revos and retired them with plenty of tread for summer driving.

But in the winter I need a tire at 100% so I got a set of the new Revo 2s and couldn't be happier.

Hi Rob,
How's it going? The 40 isn't too far away from paint, probably in the spring. I've been mess'n with the FJ Cruiser I bought for the wife lately. We have to wheel soon! Steve

I just purchased a set of Revo 2s in 265/70-18... 32.6", so a bit bigger than stock. No rubbing issues at all, they've been a great tire so far.

Good luck!

can't go wrong with Michelin LTX M/S

i have a good 80k on them and still going strong. They do everything well. Will def replace when the time comes worth every penny.

Just got some 265/75R16 Bridgestone Deuler AT Revo2s and they're awesome. No additional road noise and really god grip. Can't go wrong with the Revo 2s.

I was a tire installer in a previous life and had many customers use and love the LTX AT/2. Several got 70-80K miles off a set.

I would recommend the BFG TA/KO. It's not really an aggressive tire (like the MT). you could still expect 40-60K miles. And it the truck ever goes off road they will take the abuse. Ive had 5-6 sets on Jeeps and Tacomas and will be putting them on My LC. Oh yeah, I'm getting the 285s
