You should be able to buy it for invoice or less say $64000 and with the gas mileage these beasts get and the way the economy is they should kiss your arse in thanks. JMHO :)

gas prices are no longer a factor...it's $1.87 here in Houston..:grinpimp:

For someone who can spend that sort of coin on a vehicle, the cost of gas or the MPG isn't an issue.

I can spend that kind of coin on a vehicle but mpg in this day and age should always be an issue (for me its not a deal breaker). My SL gets an average of 19 mpg and my LX gets an average of 15 mpg both combined city/hiway. I drive the SL about 7K miles a year and the LX will go about 12K miles a year.

$62.5k is invloice for the $74k upgraded unit with Nav, etc.

There may be some holdbacks behind there that give the dealer some more room depending on his volume.

If someone got a new one for $58k then there was likely some story to it (disclosed or undisclosed).

If you can get it on the road before taxes/title for anything under $61k you are getting a good deal.

watch ebay...also check edmunds for the dealer hold back. Still plenty of old stock on hand.

My current deal = 68k MSRP for 59k...

I am still working on them to throw in the Plat 7/100 for free - They are down to 1k for the extended warranty...

About sick of negotiating but I figure the closer to 2009 the better deal I can strike.. :D

I am getting quotes from invoice to $2k over with a Manheim auction price on my trade. I am probably going to buy today if I can get my trade sorted out. I expect invoice plus a near cost deal on a Toy Platinum warranty. Location Midwest.

Surf used 2008 and 2009 LCs in the used section of cars.com then ping the dealers that have the new ones listed. Sometimes they don't have prices listed. You can always lowball. It is possible to see how old the ad is if you scroll down to the bottom of the detailed listing. The older the ad, the more wiggle there will be on the deal. Time is not the dealers friend in carry costs.

If you can, I would wait for the 2009s to get on the lot and then deal on the 2008. No real difference in terms of package at all.

drove by my lexus dealership today and they had 4 09's (tinted windows) and 2 o8 on the lot i'm sure you can get a very very very good deal if your finacing is all lined up already and dont need anything from the dealership. they are hurting big time go very low

Got an 08 two weeks ago, silver, upgrades, XM, for invoice ($63,183). Traded in my FJC and got full KBB trade-in value for it against invoice. Love the LC. Had an 80 series for 11 years, 119k miles, and missed it. Also got the Platinum Warranty for extra $1,500.

Guess I should update the thread I started!?!

We got the 200 at 6:00 PM on October 31st. They wanted to sell it BAD. We got it a little under invoice and they gave us better than trade-in value for our 04 Sienna van. They offered the extended warranty at their cost, but we pased as we have never needed warranty work past the expiration on any Toyota we have owned.

My wife is very pleased with her birthday present. She finally let me drive it Friday night! It feels like a bank vault. It gives me a great deal of comfort knowing she and our son are just about as safe on the road as you can be.

Good luck with your future LC purchases!
