Been chasing an intermittent starting issue and thought I had it narrowed down to the wire itself from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid. Now when I turn the key all I hear is a click from the relay at the bottom of this picture. Could someone please tell me what it is? Thanks in advance.

Relays are supposed to click when actuated. Are you haveing any problems with the vehicle?

Put 12v on the black and white from the ignition switch get a click from that relay sometimes, then from that relay and a click from the starter solenoid, and lastly sometimes it actually starts right up. Been on the way out for a while progressively getting worse. Started with the starter solenoid clunk, and after a few turns of the key would fire up. Now just that bottom relay clicks and no clunk from the starter solenoid. I have replaced all wires, grounds, and the starter. Only one left is the black and white from the switch to the solenoid. Just curious why this one clicks on when the ignition is turned. Thanks.

What was your issue before adding the push buttom start?

Had a terrible starting issue. It would start great sometimes, and just clunk others. Changed the starter, wires, etc with no change. Finally chased the solenoid wire and found a hella relay that had been wired in that was the culprit. While checking the key switch it busted, and the cheapest, quickest, and I must say pretty sweet fix was the push button!

Thanks for summing it up.
