Hey guys;

I just picked up a gorgeous 05 LX470 and want to get some snow tires on it. I've got some 275/70-16 Blizzaks from my 97 LX450 that I'm selling, and would just assume use those on the new rig.......

What do I have for options in a 16" wheel size for this vehicle? I assume that the OEM 16" Land Cruiser and LX470 wheels from 1998-2003 will fit, though they're not really what I want. I wanted a 5 spoke TRD-Tacoma style wheel, but obviously the bolt pattern is wrong.

Anything else I should consider?

Thanks! Ben

In 16" the options are very few and far between. In fact the only option off the top of my head is the factory 16's from the 98-02 LC/LX (same wheel, LX where normally chrome instead of silver).

In 2007 the Tundra started sharing the same bolt pattern (5x150) and offset as the Land Cruiser. However because it's a truck, almost all wheel options are 18-20". The factory Tundra wheels were 18".

Rota makes a 16x8 +20mm wheel called Grid Off-road. Basically a knock off of Ray Engineering wheel at a fraction of the price. Quality is probably a step below OEM as well but might be good enough for your purposes. +20mm offset would be roughly the equivalent of using a 1.5" wheel spacer.

Yeah, despite the name, I would not rock those offroad. Also 1.5" spacer could get you in trouble depending on the tire choice and suspension.

Rota. hmmm

How much you willing to spend? You can get some custom steelies made by Marsh Racing Wheel for about $100 a piece

is that powder coated and all. that seems like a ridiculously good price for something custom, or are there a number of pre-fabs to choose from?

I think their wheels come painted silver, black or in chrome, but even if they were in the raw, for winter steelies you can prime and paint on the cheap:meh: And they are custom to what ever size, width, bolt pattern, offset/backspace. Obviously the price will change for larger/wider. But $100 for a 16x7 aint bad

They did the conversion to 16x7 on my factory split rim centers that I had cut out. Their work is nice and the turn around was quick.

This is how Internet pandemics start. Rota wheels have broken. So have Volks, Spoon (which are pretty soft), BBS, and all other track, race, bling wheels.

A couple individuals have issues and the whole Internet forum explodes in a panic. Get your 98-99 front diffs ARB'd ASAP! 2000 trannys are ticking time bombs! Repent, the end is near!

They will only do it if you provide them wheel centers from the non U.S. split rims. They will not make custom wheels for a 5x150 bolt pattern. Apparently they don't do that bolt pattern when I contacted them about getting some of their custom wheels made.

Anybody got a set of these laying around they'd like to sell or know where I can get some (I remember back in the early 2000s when Perf Products was a Jaos dealer, it appears as though they've pulled completely out of the USA these days)? This is EXACTLY what I want...........
