So I had to replace the front pinion seal cause it was pouring out...new seal fixed that.
The output shaft seal on the t-case was leaking so I replaced that and it fixed that issue.
I knew the t- case was leaking a bit at the rear reduction box transfer section interface....but now since I put in the rear seal, the leak has gotten much worse. The vent is fine and I don't know why it got worse. I don't have time or gaskets to fix it prior to trip. So I'll just make sure it stays full and let it spray everything behind me. Any thoughts why it would have gotten worse?
Also with the duals, you cannot use the rear fill plug to gauge fullness isn't that correct?

Don't know why it would leak more if the vent is OK. Gaskets?? I rtv everything!

I use the tcase fill plug to determine full on my duals. I had the same concerns you do, so I used to check the level after driving it for a bit... But it never went down... So I stopped checking...

Are you sure its not coming out the shifter and leaking down the side of the case where they meet?? My cases like to leak out the shifter despite having 2 vents. Check the tightness of all the bolts, I have had mine leaks because of that as well. Also check your trans fluid, my trans output seal went bad and caused it to leak into my cases and I thought it was a case leak since it was venting.

Mine have leaked in evreyway possible and I have finally got them to just about stop lol

I will check the trans. Even tho I did put a new output seal on the trans prior to installing the duals. Marlin said to put 2.5 qts in the duals when assembled & that put it over the fill plug level cause when I pulled the plug it poured out. That's why I wondered about checking it at the fill plug....hmmmmm.
And yes, Geoff it does leak a bit at the shifter but that only looks "damp" i have very wet & drippy from lower just above the front output.
By leaking bad I'm saying after a 25 mile drive I can park it and get a baseball size spot on my floor (sealed concrete ) by the next day.

Yea that sounds bad! I would not worry about the trans seal then. If it was me I would split the cases and re seal them, at the pace you work that's a 20min job lol!!

Since I love crawling around under my truck I got under there & checked the trans & it's full. I put a piece of plastic under the truck when I got home to check the leak and after my 25 mile drive home till now (over 5 hours) I had but 1 drop on the plastic & 1 drop hanging on the skid plate so it must be spreading like a bitch on the sealed concrete floor.
I'll continue to check it.
Since I replaced the 2 seals it's not getting my rear diff splattered like it was at the shake down.
I'll drive it & check it on the plastic for the next few days & if it looks bad I'll tear it down on Sunday....if not I'll save it for a later time.
Thanks for all the input.

If I overfill my duals they will leak until it gets to a level its happy. Inchworm and marlin said to put 3qts in it (Lefty and crawler), and it would leak like crazy, now I just dump 2qts in and its happy. You can try draining the fluid and just putting 2qts in it over the top and see if it still leaks.

Sounds fixed to me.... Shesh! This is sounding more like an 80 board!

If this were an 80 board I would have listed the mil thickness of the plastic & given a longitude & latitude heading of the plastic location . Also the degree of slope of the garage floor would have been required as well as the direction the truck was facing. And the temperature of the fluid in the tcase versus the temp of the drip hanging versus the spot on plastic itself.

This in reality was me being a paranoid little bitch.

I'm paranoid about and a bit 80ish when it comes to my duals ever since I broke that input and blew up that trans!

Like Mark says....if it's leaking, that means it has fluid in it. When it stops leaking it's time to add... (no quotation marks cause that may not be verbatim )

If Todd has a vehicle maintenance montra, do the opposite!

That's what happened when my trans went. My duals stop leaking and I thought I fixed the leak or it sealed itself, short time later bam the trans let loose! The trans was done spitting all its fluid into the duals.

2 drips a day don't even worry about it!
