I am looking to get a OME 2" lift kit and am wondering what you all think I should order as far as shocks and springs. Would like to go bigger than 2" but cant afford all thats involved with going higher. Want her to sit even F/R. And want decient highway ride ( I live in the home of the worst roads in the country SEATTLE) ( cement buckboard highways that also have grooves so deep that you can take your hands off the while going around a turn) We dont do to much HARD 4xing mostly logging trails and etc.

INFO- 1993 FZJ-80 has ARB front bullbar w/9000lb warn winch

Thanks for any help  :bounce:

Search around a bit and I'm sure you'll find an answer. Here's what the SleeOffRoad website says in regard to the medium lift :

"This is the kit that we install for trucks without any accessories bolted to them. The front springs is stiff enough to support the weight of a replacement front bumper, like the ARB, however with a winch installed, one should upgrade to the next heavier load system."

I agree with Jason, give Slee a call and tell him your needs and mods and follow his advice.

The only thing I question is "Want her to sit even F/R". Why is that? I don't get it. Having a little rake isn't that bad and I think it's preferred. If it's level when unloaded then what happens when you are loaded up for camping/traveling on long trips? .... the rear will sit lower and that means banging that tail end on the bigger rocks and such.

My truck has a slight rake to it when unloaded but when I'm heading off on trips, it's pretty well level (sometimes still sits lower in the rear).

Also when that rear is sagging, the handling sucks. Don't be too worried about a little rake.

Here's some pics of my rig to give you an some ideas maybe. I know what your saying about our roads up here, I live in Tacoma, but travel up and down the I-5 corridor all the time, my rig has the heavy duty J springs up front with 1 inch mr. gasket spacers also, in the rear I have the non J heavy duty springs. I really wanted my rig to set level front to rear as well, and I think it's pretty close, the first two pics are taken with minimal load, maybe 2 or 3 hundred pounds in the back, the last picture taken from the rear of the truck was taken with over 1000 pounds in the back, pretty minimal sag, as far as ride quality, it definatly rides stiffer and can bounce around a bit, but seems to handle a lot better while cornering and stuff, just my opinion, hope it helps!

fzj - nice truck! What size tires?

Thanks,

THANKS! my tires are 315 75R16 mounted on 16x10 inch wheels.

why d'you go x10" ?

I went with a ten inch wheel because IMO a 12.5 inch(315mm) tire just seems to look and fit better on it, just my opinion!
