What mods on your 200 series would you recommend for this? Perhaps when you are at it, add a link to equipment you would buy.

By the way, most extreme MUD adventure I have seen to date. Also for those who like an Offroad challenge it is quite enjoyable to watch.

Follow up and recovery of the stranded vehicles

I honestly don't think it would take much other than a few key mods. And sometimes less is more because of weight that stresses the vehicle and reduces performance. Factory stuff is much more robust and reliable than aftermarket stuff which is a liability far off the beaten path.

Australia has tight limitations on tire size. I'm not sure but the biggest tire on these rigs looks no larger than 35s with most on 33 or less. Tires are going to be the biggest single enabler for height, floatation, and keeping the diffs from dragging.

Give me an LX on 37s. R/T tire. Rear locker. Factory suspension 1.5" sensor lift and long travel mods. LRA aux tank. Snorkel could be useful but possibly not necessary with how tall the rig can get in AHC high. That height also has advantages to keeping the alternator out of the muck

That's it .

Loved this episode btw.

I agree select mods preferable for this type of mud adventure.

Beside what Teckis300 saying I would probably add breathers mounted high up and venture into a liquid cooled sealed alternator… Is there a preferred one for the 200?

Makes me wonder how the starter takes these types of long swimming classes… I guess it is robust enough as I never hear of issues linked to such a use case.

Stock air injection pumps would be a big weak spot, IMO.

The starter is already well-designed for this, having water excluding breathers.

Snorkel is easy enough.. yes in terms of fording depth it may not be necessary but there is already a correlation between aftermarket front bumpers that alter the plastic fender liner and trashed 3URs from simple splashing, so probably a good idea here.

One of those unobtainable sealed / water cooled alternators that were about to come on market 5 years ago and didn’t.

Snorkel that passed a smoke test

Maybe a no carpet interior with the main harness connectors somehow waterproofed and the amplifier relocated above waterline.
