I’m replacing my front axle breather. This pic shows the oem breather detached from the frame. Where it attaches to the frame is the tube in question. It is open in the frame and just has a rubber tube going up that doesn’t connect to anything. Just seems like it’s a tube to nothing? I’m nervous that the rubber end should attach to something…
Any ideas??

Maybe the tube from the bottom of the charcoal canister.
Solved. Thank you!!
Several years ago I replaced the oem with a gm part I think. It didn’t have a lower connection, so it’s just hanging out.

Hard to tell from that photo. There are four rubber hoses in that area.

Two are the transmission cooler lines and two are fuel lines. Al four are connected to steel tubing. You'd know immediately if one of them was disconnected.

The charcoal canister hoses are too short to extend below the top of inner fender; one terminates under the upper intake, and the other is connected to a fuel return line on the top of the inner fender. You can see both of these easily, wit the hood open.
