Hi everyone,
What is this black flexible adhesive that does not harden?
It’s used to hold the clear moisture/water barrier on the doors.
I’m in the process of replacing the plastic barrier and would like to use the same product.
My repair manual doesn’t mention it.

That is butyl tape

3M Scotch-Weld round cord based on butyl rubber.​

It comes in various diameters. Stretching it as you apply it will shrink it to the desired size. Too much and the door panel will not lay flat.​
