My lockers weren't engaging on my newly acquired LX450 so I replaced the position switch on the transfer case and to my delight, now the center, front and rear lockers all engage however while under there I noticed fluid coming out of this plug. What is this plug, what is the best way to fix this? This is the driver side looking back.

VSS or vehicle speed sensor, basically the speedometer sender.

There are two seals.. one oring that goes around the body, very easy to replace.. and a MUCH more difficult internal seal against the spinning shaft that is similar format to a crank seal. It is small and difficult to get the old one out.

Try changing just the oring first.. If it continues to weep the inner seal needs to go too.

Oring: 96711-24030
Internal shaft seal: 90310-09001

The internal seal on mine was hanging on for dear life. Plus at least in mine there was no shoulder to get ahold of and push it out. Combination of oring picks and small flat-blade screwdriver got it out.. but it wasn't an easy job.
