on the road again....
and who carries them. I just woke up and dreamed about it. Must be a sign.....

Here ya go:

Landcruiser Attic

Very happy with mine. Their in-vehicle photo is poor...but it’s great in my 200.

Their photo makes it look like it’s all strap...but in my truck it fits well and the material reaches all the way to the attachment points.

Highly recommended.

great....just what I need

Fun fact-These guys are local to me. The LC in the pic is actually my 100 series.

Edit- I highly recommend this product. I’ve had it for years and use the s*** out of it.:D

Nice.

I wonder why the straps seem so long on that photo. Maybe just because you have a lot of stuff on the mesh. :)

Gaijin, do you own this product? I'm curious how practical it would be to use for items that need to be accessed and re-stowed on a daily basis.

The reason I ask is that access appears to require loosening the webbing as opposed to relying on a bungee effect..

Cheers,

Pete

No. I never saw the need for these. Of course, YMMV.

That’s fun. I have the attic plus the seat back Molle panels and a bunch of Velcro-attached pouches including a couple I stick to the front of my ARB drawers.

Access does not require loosening anything! It's extremely practical and I use it constantly when I'm using my LC. Hats, gloves, jacket, raincoat, sweatshirt, etc. Whatever I've put up there for a particular trip is easy to grab and is out of the way when stowed. I keep the straps tight so no sag and there's still plenty of give to get things out. I wouldn't own an LC without a BROG Attic. ;)

That’s exactly the same item list I tend to put up there. Quick-grab stuff like cold weather items. I keep my attic super tight to that there is zero drop when empty. This let’s even talk ppl sit in the second row without issue, and doesn’t obstruct rear view mirror view at all (though my bumper items do!).

The BROG attic does look pretty darn good. It's perhaps too small for my application so I'm considering the Raingler full length offering. I'm just not sure how practical the quick access/stowe will be with the Raingler. Probably just fine but also likely a bit less convenient than the BROG

FWIW I've had both and access isn't a problem with either solution. Both can be loosened easily. The Raingler may have a bit of an advantage as you can grab something through the netting if the item is small enough. You can't really go wrong.

How easy is it to still see out the back window with these?

Not too bad if you don't have other stuff obstructing the view. I currently have terrible rear visibility for other reasons but the ceiling net certainly doesn't help. Ours hangs down about 6-8 inches from the ceiling.

Here is a pic of mine. 34" x 29" Raingler net. I'd like to sell this item if anyone interested.

No obstruction at all with what I would call "normal" stuff in there. My wife and I both keep sweatshirts, raincoats, hats, etc. up there with no rear view obstruction. I suppose it wouldn't work for bowling balls, but that's got other issues.

The one thing I’d like to see tweaked on these attics is the ability to raise a front facing edge of the net up toward the ceiling...to prevent stuff from sliding forward.

I keep my attic super tight which is great for visibility...but it can lead to items moving forward on stops, steep declines off road, etc.

Heard a funny noise the other day...turned to see my dog Bindi completely covered by a blanket that slide forward and down. :)

I’ve got one from BROG. Worked okay, but maybe I wasn’t able to get it as tight as others in this thread. I tried my best to get it as tight as possible. I kept a jacket, tote, soft cooler, but it did block my rear view and it reduced head room for rear passengers. I use the 2nd row a bit for passengers so I decided it wasn’t the right solution for me.

I use the BROG one to hold a spare puffy, a couple down throws, and a couple of beanies, and it doesn’t hang down and block vision at all. You can barely see it in the rear view mirror if you look for it, but it’s not distracting. It did take quite a bit of fiddling to get it really tight, but it works great now (although the plastic clips they give you are very cheap and suck).
