I'm looking for an enclosed cargo case I can use temporary on some trips.
I would like to be able to remove it and re-attach it without too much work.

My roof rack area I have for this is approx. 87" x 24"

Used for holding paddles, life jackets, kayak seats, sometimes small suit cases.

What make and model is good for this?

I have a Thule box like Sandroad and find that it is easy on, easy off. I keep it on a shelf I made in the garage and throw it on when I need it. I also like that it opens from either side, so it has flexible mounting options.

Here's a pic. It was a lot easier to get to before I installed a lift in the way. I may need to move it.

Sorry, my garage is a mess. I'll clean it in the Spring. :-)

Thule case has worked well with the fast connect claw things. Light enough to get on & off pretty easy. Had it for years with no issues.

I have the skybox 16, has been great.

Als.com has 20% off (coupon on home page banner).

I have 2 Yakama skyboxes, A 16 and 21. Had the 16 for over 10 years, no issues from either. Had a Thule before the Yakamas. If I had to go back I would buy them again without hesitation, well built, easy to take on and off.

I also have the Yakima Skybox 16 Carbonite. It's pretty great. However, its weight and width are just enough to make it awkward trying to install it by yourself (but still possible). Two people is super easy and quick.

Will all these fit on factory roof racks fo LC 200s with no mods? Thule has a couple sizes on their site, probably the XXL ?

I use yakama 66” round bars with rail grab feet. My skybox 16 will fit on my OEM ‘13 LX cross bars, the 21 will not as the bars will not spread enough. With LC side rails the 21 probably would work.

It's probably bigger than your posted specs, but we have a Thule MotionXT that has been great. It is very easy to install and remove, opens from both sides, and have held up to incredible abuse of the past two years. We routinely take it on trails that have long since been given up by the FS and as such, it get's beaten silly by branches and downed trees. It has even survived a fall off the roof while I was getting it down.

The only issue I have had is that it is covered in sap now that is never coming off, but that is about it.

This is an L

And it fits fine on stock cross bars. It has a lot of flexibility in spacing.

Yakima 21 here. Wish it rode a little further forward on the roof due to interference with rear hatch but you can still open it 3/4 of the way.

Did 2,000 miles at 85mph and it didn’t move. They added a securing mechanism to the front to prevent it from prying open.

Yakima 16 on my LC on stock bars. No interference (and still fits in my garage!)

Yakima Skybox 16 fits great on factory roof rack. It's hooks are adjustable, which also lets you orient the box best so that it interferes as little as possible with the sunroof and completely clears the LC's back hatch window-fin-thing when the back hatch is open.

Yakima Skyboxes are great too.

FYI ... Isopropyl rubbing alcohol dissolves tree sap.

Yeah, I have to douse the truck a couple of times a year. Unfortunately there are a couple of spots on the cargo box that won’t budge, even with a good soaking. I probably let it go too long. Doesn’t affect the performance though 😉

how did you get the 20% off to work for Thule?
I have a VIP account, so I get extra discounts. They send VIP registrations in some shipping boxes.

When I was looking for a cargo box, I settled on Packasport Packasport click

I personally would look for a used one before I dropped the coin on new.
