Just a local hot rod shop I forgot the name......the design is so simple any upholstery shop can do it.....I just dropped it off and said as original as possible! $425 hth
Got a new inspection sticker put on the windshield. The glass was folded so long I didn't notice it had expired. Then I drove it to HEB for groceries.
Put some "new" hand-me-down 31x10.50 A/T shoes on the beige '78 that were replaced with "real" new 33 x10.50 M/T on the white and black '76. Now to get back after the body on the '76....

The big black gasket you reference is actually a spacer for a Trollhole carb. This is used to make up the difference in height between a Trollhole & Aisan Carb. If you need one, call Marshal Shepard (Trollhole Cruisers) at 864-414-0563.
If you have an Aisan Carb, you want the Air Cleaner Gasket, OEM part number 17848-61011.

the bit that the hood latch clips to was worn out so took them off and made some from stainless and put old school emblems on and new extractors and fixed the panels that got damaged when it got stolen

It's been almost a month since I rebuilt my Aisan carb and replaced all vacuum hoses with Silicone lines. I'm so glad I did it. I didn't know a Cruiser can idle so smoothly without pulling the choke! This is a smogged, 1980 California model FJ40, with arguably the most complicated set up. Removing the carb was almost as hard as rebuilding it.

Finally addressed my headlight switch. Took it out, cleaned it up per Coolerman's thread, and re-installed it. Voila, my headlights work regularly again (or, at least, regularly for the last 24 hours).
Got tired of nursing along the starter in my '75 '40.
Installed a "new rebuilt" gear reduction starter. Whew! doggies! starts first time every time.

This week I replaced the clutch slave cylinder with an aftermarket Aisin from Cruiser Corps along with a braided steel soft line from SOR (really my only choice other than having it made, since mine is a '76 and the stock piece is NLA).
Took off my windshield frame, painted it, the hinges, and the cowl, and treated the rust underneath the "vent grille." It bugs me that this one, entirely ornamental, area is a source of leaks and rust - I may end up putting in a block-off plate and sealing it off. All it's good for is sampling the vegetation that falls on the hood when it's parked...

Rhino lined engine compartment of my 78 cruiser. The motor is off for rebuild and since I had it out I decided to redo the terrible paint job the previous owner had done. Stripped down to bare metal did a primer and two coats of liner and one coat of gloss clear high heat
