What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

I dont often comment on this thread but I think this was a fun activity I did this week: I registered it in the JDM car show at Laguna Seca during the Monterey Rolex Historic's, but I only did it cause show admission was half the price of general attendance for Friday and Saturday, and it comes with goodies/entertainment. And we'll fill the cooler in the back with cold snacks for the races.View attachment 4180652

@Buffchief that's a stunning 40 you've got. I like the '81-'84 steering wheel on it. What's the box at the top of your windscreen?

That blue one has had a hard life. Call it patina and list it on BaT and you may have a gold mine right there.

Got my roof glued down this morning! Cannot believe how much time was invested in this one project like I mentioned before. Sikaflex 221 underneath the cap. Will let it sit until next weekend when I’ll pull it all off and start working on putting in the rivets.

I gotta wonder with the sikaflex if you even need the rivets anymore.

I have considered this during the process, but decided I'd rather have the mechanical lock of the rivets work with the sikaflex. With all the movement and vibration the vehicle will experience while driving I dont trust the sikaflex on its own to hold the roof on.

Not how I tackled this. Riveted first, then 3M self-leveling 2-part sealant. No clamping.

Had the leaking shorty hose for the oil cooler. What a pain to get to! Replaced all 3 oil cooler hoses and. The bypass hose too. Also learned the lesson again: don’t leave the door open while you’re under it… I smashed into the bottom of the door when crawling out from under… I hit my head so hard that I split all the way through the back of my ear.

So that was fun. PSA: Close your doors when you crawl under!!!

How do you like those Geolander A/T4's? I'm looking to get some new tires. Something that's quiet and softer ride/ for a tire at least.... I'm running General Grabbers that are basically 10 years old...

I just put some on my wife's '23 GX460 - I am very happy with them so far.

Thanks, it’s a VW Jetta. I didn’t want the air cleaner on the pass side, cruised through the scrapyard with a rough idea and popped some hoods.

Thank you, it was tough to get between the alternator and the fan shroud, I didn’t want a cone filter on this build.
