Been a while since it has been like this, though. I rolled a soft top/FST bows for a while and then went back to my hardtop after I finished restoring it.

Thank you. The soft top has no brand tag on it. I was told it was custom made in Colombia. It’s very similar in style to TROA. The BaT seller and the shop I spoke to after sale said that many of the craftsman who worked on my truck also worked at FJ Company?
 
Fabricated a lockable storage/arm rest atop existing center tray using some aluminum flat stock, carpet, foam, and a 50 cal ammo box. Very comfortable, sturdy and practical… you be the judge (original vs new):

Next up, replacing rusted out (gone) grill, Toyota emblem repainted, new led headlights and painting bezel. Paint is drying. Pics soon
 
back in September I started noticing head gasket issues. No oil and water mix, just exhaust gasses in the coolant causing the overflow tank to spill over every so often. I pulled the head in November to find the tiniest of holes in part of the gasket that was causing the issue. I am to blame for this as I did not take the head to a machine shop and I used a cheep itm brand head gasket. Rookie mistake but on the teacher salary its what I could afford at the time. I found a new machined head over the hollidays for 200$ story goes that it just was never picked up because the owner passed away. No idea on the validity of that story, but I did take it to another machine shop to check it out and they said no cracks, and it for sure had a valve job and the surfaced was skimmed for flatness. So big 200$ score! strangest part was cylinder 6 exhaust valve was missing. dont know the story with the valve. A new valve, keepers, OEM headgasket, intake gasket, and thermostat housing gasket, I am good to go! its purring now. amazing what good valves even sound like compared to the old head. so much quieter!

I know that 4x4 vacuum line is incorrect. I had to order some big vacuums line for the 4x4 system and its still not here. The SOR line I had there just was too small to work.

Is that the Harbor Freight vacuum gauge? Did you need anything additional to use it??

I think its an amazon one... Not sure I know it was cheep. Probably the same one you would get at harbor freight. it came with everything you need.
 
I've had the dash-mounted manifold vacuum gauge for years, very useful. Just recently added a second vacuum gauge for ported vacuum to see how much and when...
