...and I forgot to mention a couple small cracks filled with JB weld.
I'm thinking that my steering wheel needs some enamel to hopefully prevent further sun damage? Just the windscreen-exposed sides are really cracking.
I'm going to do leather wraps at the spokes and paracord on the wheel rim.
I've really wanted foam bar wrap for a road-bicycle (pedal-type). Not for the FJ40, but the '85 Nissan 720 with a rotting wheel and cracked dash.
I may put some kind of wrap on it later. I already have a small chip & I sliped with the Xacto blade removing some masking tape....

My buddy has a 64 ford galaxie R code light; factory 427 race car basically. His dad installed a vacuum gauge in the dash that’s labeled as a mil-o-meter or something. Has vacuum reading and mpg on the same sweep. Not sure how they’d calibrate it but the mpg’s has a min of 2 and max of 10. Probably right in that car!

I have the FF axle with 80 series elocker diff in and waiting on one hose to finish it up. I still need to change a plug on the harness too but everything works well.

Got the fan shroud, both splash shields, battery tray and battery tray to frame mount painted now just need to finish the radiator support bracket. Happy with the outcome should look good when it’s all put back together. I will get some pictures with the new radiator installed when it’s all finished.

Gas tank straps cleaned up
Fabricated new grille out of expanded aluminum, repainted emblem and bezel. Need to move emblem up a bit, but too cold… will have to do for now.

Working on restoring a 83100-60025 cluster meter. Found that when you remove the face plate of the gauges for painting, the rivets can be replaced with stainless steel head socket cap screws. Measurement is M2 0.45x4MM. Found a small tap to make threads into the plastic. Works very well and looks factory. No one will ever see these for at least another 40 years but when they restore this cluster, they will appreciate the removable screws.

It's not the best weather here for an unheated garage. Toyota's orders take almost a month.
I have to make three trips to pick up all the parts from the same order. The website still shows the order status "on hold".
I probably should not said that here... the current Toyota service is too exaggerated, but it is probably the same for many brands now.
$30 CAD. just sayin…
