On Tuesday of last week I had intentions of buying anything. On Wednesday I though the 40's progress is going well but a 62 would be nice to cruise around in. Couldn't take it, on Friday I bought this one. I have had the 40 for years and know it fairly well. This is all new to me, literally. So any advice and help or suggestions is welcome. I made the December meeting and hope to make the next one and show it off. Here it is a 1989 FJ62 Grey (clear coat peeling on hood) w/ 175k miles. Bone stock other than aftermarket radio and wheels sitting on BFG A/T 31x10.5. Let the double madness begin.

thats a beautiful truck............and i dont even like 60s :D
was that the one on greensboro Craigslist? it was up in high point/winston area and looks just like it.
ENJOY; but remember 2 is a collection, 3 makes you a hoarder

I happen to see it on the main classified site on Wednesday. Yes, he lives in Winston, not sure if he had advertised on CL or where. I had always thought I might like one but had never driver or actually seen one in person. Guess now it is a collection, either way I can see it may be a problem or so my family says. I must admit my wife and kids have been supportive of my addiction..

Oooof, that burns man.

Nice score Deuce! That 62 looks super clean. What are your plans for it?

Not really sure. I think I want to put a 2.5 OME lift, (love the one on the 40) Need suggestions, it's only gonna be on the street and highway, grocery grabber, etc. I do have a question though. My shifter seems loose (left to right) Looked underneth and saw the linkage. Is there a way to tighten that up?

Well sir, you have come to the right place. Look at this thread first:

Then these two:

Thanks guys, I guess I really don't know what I've got, but so far I like it. Yea the first two things that have to be addressed is the sloppy shifter and the drivers seat. The seat is in rough shape. Hope to get an estimate of covering this week and maybe the weekend can tackle the shifter. Should I use the first link or just order part # 44 in the diagram? Will those two bushings do it?
