That's silicone you are seeing on the edges to keep water and muck from collecting b/w the scab plating and the housing.

Whatcha' think the monkey's at Jiffy Lube will do if I pull this in and ask them to service the front diff??

Nice man! I love how the lower 'wings' came out, very slick. Good idea with the silicone as well, gotta keep it from rusting!

You've got a week to get Dozer back together :D

only concern would be the silicone. Ive read it can promote rusting. (why not to use around a windhsield)
Is that temporary or are you going to weld up all the edges too?
 
Bout to head east with my freshly rebuilt and beefed up front axle. The rest of Dozer's coming too.
