Hi guys n girls, I have a 10 amp fuse in the fuse box that keeps blowing. Its the one at the bottom of the 2nd row from the left. Can someone please tell me what it controls or sort a picture of the diagram on the cover as I don't have one :-(

If you have a late model 60 or 61
it has to be the ''engine'' fuse. This fuse is original 15A.
But don't change it before you know why it is blowing up.

Is it the fourth from above in the second row??

This should help...

It appears to be the engine fuse. Previous owner had a 10A in not a 15A. Still blows when ignition is on. Would this be why my brand new alternater isn't charging the battery?

is your sedimenter and bat. light on all the time when the fuse blows?,then it is time to check your ''charge light relay''.RHS kick panel ,thats where you will find it.Yours will be 12V though.

here is how it looks like

My bat. light doesn't come on at all. Have put a new alternater and battery in and have checked bat leads with clamp metre and have no current draw to flatten battery. Its simply not getting charge.

If your battery terminals had a bunch of corrosion on them, a good cleaning usually solves the problem. But it is a possibility the corrosion has traveled down the length of the cable, not letting your charge through. Don't know if this is why the fuse is blowing though... Have you checked the ground from the motor to the frame?

Is your bat.warning light ON ''with ignition on and engine off'' ?

If not, your ic regulator might be the problem,or something simple as a burned out bat.warning light.:hhmm:

Right so have found that the charge light relay is dead across terminals 1&2 with power on. Now i have a battery light. Still have an engine fuse problem. Least progress is being made

Hi all, well after much research and a sparky mate having a look all my problems have been solved. The reason for the engine fuse constantly blowing and battery not charging was i was supplied the wrong alternator! The unit supplied was for an external regulater so it was putting 50 amps through the entire circuit.

Glad you got it sorted out, and thanks for posting the solution! Some people don't...

x2 on reporting the sollution.

If your charge light relay ever happens to blow in the future, then you have to check the B+ connection on the alternator.
Mine broke off and i got the same effect like you reported .

Just found i now have to shell out $590 to get the right alternater :-[ looks like "The Pig" will be a garden ornament for a little while longer![/QUOTE

Is that a Toyota priced Alternator??:crybaby:

Got mine (24V) from Toyota Sweden for Half the price. It was a Toyota (OPTIFIT) overhauled, like new.;)

But the landcruiser has pretty big batterys above 50 amps so you can wire directly to the + and keep driving?
Thats wat they do with tractors or if you would use the alternator for a third battery that would be the way to connect  50 amps aint that much?

That's the cheapest i can get one with freight. I live in Kalgoorlie. Last major town east of Perth before you hit the desert. Have learnt there is the price and the Kalgoorlie price

Its an 89 fj62 right hand drive. Bottom fuse on second row under all the 15As.
Good Sir - I have an '86 HJ61 RHD 12 HT and the a/c heater blower went out while driving. I was using the heater. No blower speed would work thereafter. I have not yet tried to see if the blower would work when using the A/C. I just assumed the blower electrical was the same whether using the heat or a/c. Your second picture is spot-on for my fuse box. Is the C B 30A Heater the correct fuse for the blower? If so, any idea where I might find such fuse? Mine has Y255 on it.
